Test protocols in the Kiel workshop
Along the Baltic Sea coast, salty air is particularly harsh on mechanical components. In our workshop, every product line undergoes standardized climate chamber testing at 40 degrees Celsius and high humidity to prevent corrosion on solder joints and contacts. We test impact-resistant ABS plastic shells for drop resistance onto screed flooring from a height of two meters, ensuring that an accidental drop during morning insertion causes no breakage.
Material selection for long-term skin compatibility
Direct contact with the ear requires medically certified materials that neither leach plasticizers nor cause allergic reactions on the ear canal skin.
- Quality inspection: Every soft silicone molded part is inspected under eightfold magnification for burrs and cracks.
- Traceability: The stainless steel used for filter meshes and retaining clips originates from certified European smelters with complete mill test certificates.
Significance for daily use
Tear-resistant stranded copper wire inside the leads ensures that head movements while cycling along the Kiellinie promenade do not cause cable breakage. High-grade plastics also resist discoloration from skin oils or UV light, retaining their elastic sealing properties for many months.
